How to Make Perfect Hard Boiled Eggs

If you ever made deviled eggs, you know how important it is to make your hard boiled eggs just right. The yolk cannot be too soft, or runny – if that’s how your eggs come out, you didn’t boil them long enough. But if you keep your eggs boiling too long, the yolk may be too hard, with a greenish color on the surface.

So how do you make your hard boiled eggs just right? It’s very simple. Place 8-10 eggs in a pot. Fill the pot with water to cover all the eggs completely. You may add some salt if you want. Adding salt raises the boiling point of the water and some people claim it helps to peel the eggs when done. Place the pot with eggs on medium-high heat to bring it to a boil. Once the water starts boiling continue to boil for 5-6 minutes. For soft yolk for 4 minutes, for a harder yolk 8-9 minutes. To avoid the gray-greenish color on the surface of the egg yolk, do not boil your eggs longer than 9 minutes.

Now you know how to make the perfect hard boiled eggs. No more guessing, just perfect final product!
